One conversation changed the direction of everything.
My ecosystem did not start as a grand plan. It started with a referral from Dean, a conversation with Krystal, and the realization that millions of people and employers were facing the same broken infrastructure.
While working with the City of Stamford, my coworker Dean introduced me to his sister Krystal in Texas. Krystal was a radiologist moving from traditional employment into 1099 contractor work. What began as guidance around business formation, taxes, and benefits quickly revealed a much larger opportunity.
Step 1Dean introduced Krystal, who was deciding whether to remain an employee or form her own company as a 1099 professional.
Step 2Krystal revealed her employer supported 100 healthcare facilities and 150 contract professionals.
Step 3I saw two major problems: independent professionals lacked portable infrastructure, and employers lacked retention and benefits strategies.
Step 4That discovery, combined with my own career wake-up call, became the fuel to build an ecosystem in roughly six months.
